Congratulations
We would like to congratulate Amanda Short on having the best poker hand in our poker walk.  She won $100.00 for her hand of a full house.  We would like to thank everyone who participated in the event.  We raised $608.00 towards the new playground.

Poker Run
The committee had planned to do a poker run this weekend but due to weather conditions and safety issues, it had to be cancelled.  However, a poker walk around our 3 communities is underway.  We are receiving a great response to this event.  A winner will be announced on Sunday.  Good Luck to all those who purchased a poker hand.

Student Challenge
Before we received our Let Them Be Kids award, Ian Hill, challenged the students of James Cook Memorial.  He challenged them to raise $500.00 in one month and it would be matched whether we received the award or not.  The children took on the challenge and within a couple of weeks, they had surpassed their goal.  They were successful in raising $673.00 through a ticket sale, snow shovelling, baby-sitting, and an all ages dart tournament.  We would like to thank everyone who helped the students achieve their goal.  The students completing this challenge gave us $1346.00 in buying power for their  new playground.
